This piece was created using a technique in which a phosphorescent material is fired together with the Tosaiga ceramic painting.
The phosphorescent material has the property of absorbing and storing light in bright environments, then releasing that energy to glow in the dark.
Owing to this characteristic, the motif of the artwork emerges when the room lights are turned off.
